The Francis Calistus O'Hanlon Foundation is named in honor of and is a memorial to Francis. He was born on October 15, 1914, in East Liverpool, Ohio. He was a member of the Ohio 37th Infantry Division. The Unit's shoulder patch insignia is in the upper left corner of this page. Francis was killed in action in the Pacific Theater during World War II on New Georgia Island. Francis was truly one of the "Greatest Generation," as were three of his brothers who survived World War II.
